Need Good Thoughts --- Hubby is going to 2nd interview this week

Just wanted to post and update: Hubby was able to land a temp job. The company he is working for cut so deeply that when an employee goes on maternity leave they have no one to replace that person. They hired him for a 6 month assignment and today they told him his last day will be Sept.15th (vs August as the woman comes back from maternity leave later then thought).

He has been looking since he landed the job and we are so hoping that he can land somewhere prior to this opportunity ending in September. However I can not tell you how great it was to have this income. During this time frame, our fridge and hot water heater blew and we were able to replace both items with the cash we had from his job...

We are continuing to stay focused

i know it must be so difficult with such uncertainty. i really hope he is able to find something more stable soon.. it really is a jungle out there. so few jobs and so many people vying for those very few. i really hope it begins to get a bit better.

To me the worst part is when he goes on interviews they pretty much want to make you feel like you just landed the winning lottery ticket when they are offering a bit better then min wage...Employers have us right where they want us and the squeeze till it hurts...

He really loves this temp job and he has asked them since Sept is coming close if they would recommend him for another position in the company and they state they will not do that till this assignment ends because they can not afford to lose him.

I'm just reading this thread now, how are you and your dh doing? I hope he was able to continue on with the company he was working for, it sounds like they truly valued him and his work.

He was able to stay in the temp job, as the woman that he filled in for her maternity leave, choose not to come back.

They have told him his ten position will end on Jan 15th as the company just went thru a re org and in January that position is deemed as not needed.

We are hoping that he can find a direct hire job but at least this gets us thru Christmas and for that I'm very grateful.

I'm just reading this thread now, how are you and your dh doing? I hope he was able to continue on with the company he was working for, it sounds like they truly valued him and his work.
